The fundamentals
Why the groundwork matters
Decorative concrete is unforgiving — the base, mix timing and stamp work all have to be right, because the pattern is pressed into the surface itself. Experienced crews plan the pour around the pattern so joints and edges disappear into the design.
The same fundamentals as any quality slab apply underneath: stable compacted base, proper thickness and reinforcement, and joints placed where they won't fight the pattern.

Long-term value
Built for long-term performance
Unlike pavers, stamped concrete has no joints for weeds and no individual stones to settle or shift. With basic care and periodic resealing, the color and texture stay rich for years.
Our family, your project
Why Ultimate Concrete
Ultimate Concrete is a second-generation family business, pouring in the Central Valley since 2007. The family name is on every job — that means continuity from estimate to final finish, accountability if anything needs attention, and craftsmanship passed down rather than subcontracted away.

Common questions
Does stamped concrete cost more than plain?
Yes — the pattern, color and extra finishing time add to the price, but it's typically far less than real stone or pavers. We'll price both options so you can compare.
Will the color fade?
Color is integral to the concrete and protected by sealer. Like any outdoor surface it mellows over time; periodic resealing keeps it looking its best.
Is stamped concrete slippery?
Texture from the stamp pattern provides grip, and non-slip additives can be included in the sealer for pool decks and shaded areas.
